A thoughtful way to build with AI. Slow down at the right moment, so everything after it goes fast.
AI will build almost anything you ask, as fast as you can ask it. That makes the asking the part that matters. A careless prompt ships a careless product, quickly. A considered one ships the right thing, also quickly.
Promptfulness is the practice of giving AI the attention you'd give a colleague: knowing what you want and why, saying it clearly, and checking what comes back.
SEVEN PRACTICES

Know why before you ask what
Be able to say who it's for and what should change for them. If you can't, AI can't either.

Give context, not commands
Explain the situation the way you would to a smart new colleague. Good context beats clever wording.

Say what done looks like
Describe the result you'd accept, in a way someone could check. Then check it.

Decide once, write it down
When you make a call, record it with the reason, so you never explain it twice.

Keep the big calls human
Let AI do the small, reversible work. Bring anything costly or irreversible back to a person.

Read what comes back
Review AI's work as carefully as you'd review a person's. Fix the instruction, not just the output.

Leave it better for the next one
Each time something goes wrong, improve the rules, so the next attempt starts smarter.
